Naughty Pines Fish Camp is located on Wegg Lake in the English River System in Ontario, Canada.   It's fun, easy and scenic traveling to the Landing Point either by air or paved roads.

Driving from the Western United States from states west of Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, and Louisiana will likely route themselves to I-29 entering Canada at Emerson, then further north to Winnipeg, Manitoba.

At Winnipeg, you intersect Canada #1 east approximately 170 miles to Vermillion Bay, Ontario.  Then north bound on Hwy. #105 which is also known as the Red Lake Road.  Traveling approximately 60 miles north you then arrive at the south edge of Ear Falls, Ontario.

Take the first left on #804, a paved country road traveling west 14 miles.  You will cross a one lane bridge, then continue past a gravel road known as Longlegged Road.  You will then come to a sign for Manitou Falls camp and just past this sign is the public landing which is the Naughty Pines Landing pickup point.  You will be picked up by Naughty Pines staff in our 20' barge to transport your party across Barnston Lake through Barnston White Water Rapids to the Base Camp on Wegg Lake.

Driving from the Eastern United States from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana and states east will most likely route their trip through International Falls, Minnesota, crossing into Canada.

Depending on your home town and state, excellent US Highways are US 71, I-35, and I-94.  The Interstate routes into Duluth, and then one travels Hwy. #53 into International Falls and on into Fort Frances, Ontario, Canada.

From Fort Frances N.E. on Hwy #11 approximately 20 miles.  Then north on Hwy. #502 which is an excellent highway to Dryden, 90 miles north .  At Dryden, you travel west on Hwy #17 to Vermillion Bay Ontario.  At Vermillion Bay, you turn northbound on Hwy #105.  Approximately 60 miles north you will arrive at the south edge of Ear Falls.

You will turn left on #804, a paved country road traveling west 14 miles.  You will cross a one lane bridge, then continue past a gravel road known as Longlegged Road.  You will then come to a sign for Manitou Falls camp and just past this sign is the public landing which is our meeting point.  You will be picked up by Naughty Pines staff in our 20' barge to transport your party across Barnston Lake through Barnston White Water Rapids to the Base Camp on Wegg Lake.

Crossing the US/Canada Border by car does not require a passport or visa if you are a US Citizen.   Identification may be asked for upon entry.  Your Driver's License or Birth Certificate are acceptable.  Parents and/or Guardians of children will need bring a copy of Birth Certificates for each child accompanying them.  For additional laws and regulations see Canada Laws.

Flying into Canada will get you closest to camp with the least amount of drive.  The closest commercial airport to camp is located in Dryden, Ontario, Canada.  If you fly into Dryden, shuttle service from Naughty Pines is available for the 120 mile drive to the Naughty Pines pickup point.  There is a nominal charge for the shuttle which is very economical in comparison to renting a car.  You may find that flights are cheaper flying into the commercial airport at Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.  However, this will increase your drive time and you will have to rent a car as there is no shuttle service from Winnipeg.  If you are chartering flights or flying in yourself, Ear Falls, Ontario, Canada has a paved runway just 5 miles north of town.  This will cut your drive time to the pickup point down to 25 miles.  Shuttle service is also available from Ear Falls.

Flying into Northern United States then driving onto the Camp, you will make your reservation with International Falls, Minnesota as the destination.  While it is not the closest commercial airport to the camp, it is the furthest north commercial airport in the United States.  If your budget is tight and you do not want the international travel cost incurred by flying into Dryden, this may be a better option for you.

Flying into the Base Camp is also an option as float planes can land on the Wegg Lake right at Naughty Pines Fish camp.
